Yesterday, moving went well. It was quick and there were no issues. I think it only took 5 trips in the pulsar to move everything. We were even able to bend the mattress to fit inside the car. The new place is much closer to school. Very nice. So far I really like the new place. Danielle seems to like it also.
First thing in the morning on moving day I got a call from the local bike shop "The Bicycle Entrepreneur" as I had applied there for a job. They wanted me to come in and work the following day (today). So, today I worked there from 9AM to 6PM. Its just your typical bike shop - nothing special. I was selling bikes which is kind of a joke because I don't really know much about bikes. The guy "training" me told me that there are basically two typesof customer.
Customer Type 1: knows what he/she wants and has probably done research on the internets - comes in looking for something specific.
Customer Type 2: Has no idea what they want and you can "feed them any BS and they'll believe it".
The staff discount is cost plus 15% :-)
I sold three kids bikes which will certainly be used as Christmas gifts. I'm not planning to work at TBE for very long - its definitely the least enjoyable job I ever had and it made me miss the Whitespot days. I'm going to keep applying at pharmacies around here.

Glad to hear that all went well . . . yeah retail sales is a real grind with little opportunity for fun but it will give you somemore experience to draw from weather its good or bad. Happy for you and thinking about you lots . . . Winston is now coming back for Christmas after doing some successful fund raising . . . ! Even harder to skype now that your working I guess . . . take care and TTYL
I like the new place. It just doesn't feel like home yet. That's the sucky part of moving, the homey feel takes a while to develop.
Keep on trucking with the job. You'll be happy once you get your first pay, then we can celebrate that! HAHA!
Bro,
Your job reminds me of the one shift I worked at Coast Mountain Sports, after arriving home from Paris dead-broke....ugh.
Anyhow, keep at it. Good luck, maybe you'll meet some cool co-workers. Is there a commission component? I hope so, otherwise there's no incentive!
