Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day does not seem like a very big deal in Australia as compared to Canada. In fact last year I didn’t hear anything about it at all. That might be because it falls during final exams and I was probably studying in my room all of last November (much like this November).

Well, today Danielle and I went up the road to grab a coffee. At the till they had a box of poppies for sale by donation. I bought one with my change because these poppies are much different from the ones adorned by Canadians. I’ve attached a picture so that you can see exactly how peculiar they are. No pin either but instead the “stem” is metal wire. Sadly, I’ve only seen a handful of people wearing these.

My first final is in 24 hours. It's in Health Systems and Economics.

Those poppies look much more authentic than ours.
Rememberance Day seems to actually take on more importance here every year. Good thing, I suppose.

Neat update.
