Last Day Activity

So, we decided to go do something fun (for once) since we're leaving later tonight. The 'thing' to do in Perth is go to the beach and that's what we did. Pictures are below. Then we went to Fremantle to check things out. The picture at the top shows the trail from the parking lot to the beach.

Danielle and I collected these shells off the beach. I have just packed them in my suitcase for my dear mother.
You can see about 15 kite surfers in this photo. It was really windy!
This is one of the buildings of the Notre Dame University of Australia. Most of Fremantle looks like this. The yellow tent is for the surf lifesavers (beach lifeguards). They patrol the busy beaches. I'm happy to go in the water if they're nearby. There were about ten of them sitting in that tent - I think they volunteer.

That is all.

Packing...

We're currently packing. Our plane leaves at nearly 3AM. My friend Stephen is driving us to the airport which is nice since its probably a $100 cab ride away and there aren't any shuttle buses running that late.

I"ll try to update this blog if we have WiFi at any of our three layovers.

I just took this picture

Made it

Finals are over. I made it through alive. The stress was intense and I still haven't recovered yet. My circadian rhythm is all messed up from the insane hours of studying these past few weeks. Last night I couldn't sleep. Same for tonight.

It feels good to be done. The term is not over yet. I've got a massive project (with presentation) to start and finish by next Thursdays. This project shouldn't be too bad though.

More updates to come. I think we might go for a bike ride up the river tomorrow. If we do I'll be sure to take some pictures.

Last Final

Tomorrow is my last final exam for this term. I still have a group project to do next week though so it's not all over yet.

I am mentally exhausted.

Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day does not seem like a very big deal in Australia as compared to Canada. In fact last year I didn’t hear anything about it at all. That might be because it falls during final exams and I was probably studying in my room all of last November (much like this November).

Well, today Danielle and I went up the road to grab a coffee. At the till they had a box of poppies for sale by donation. I bought one with my change because these poppies are much different from the ones adorned by Canadians. I’ve attached a picture so that you can see exactly how peculiar they are. No pin either but instead the “stem” is metal wire. Sadly, I’ve only seen a handful of people wearing these.

My first final is in 24 hours. It's in Health Systems and Economics.

Banned

I haven't posted because I've been doing nothing but studying. I've basically banned myself from the interwebs cause I've been so busy.

Anyway, back to it. I just wanted to post something.
